Princeton Area League of Women Voters and East Windsor-Hightstown Area League of Women Voters Merger

What: Two local leagues, LWV of Princeton Area and LWV of East Windsor-Hightstown Area are merging into a new league, LWV of the Greater Princeton Area. Together the new league has over 80 members.
Who are we: The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots civic organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Membership in the League is open to people 16 years and older of all gender identities. With over 100 years of experience, the League is one of America’s oldest and most trusted civic nonprofit organizations.
Towns included: The new LWV-GPA covers towns spanning three counties including:
Mercer: East Windsor, Hightstown, Princeton, Robbinsville, West Windsor
Middlesex: Cranbury, Plainsboro, South Brunswick
Somerset: Montgomery, Rocky Hill
Why: The merger will allow for more efficient operation of the previously separate organizations.
When: The merger became official on July 19 when the new group voted "yeah" to finalize the merger.
